Team Parachuting
If the thought of jumping out of a plane on your own seems a bit daunting, then taking the plunge with a group of mates or work colleagues could make the whole experience a lot more enjoyable.
There are many reasons to do a team jump:
Moral support
Parachuting as a team will ensure that you have moral support from the time you sign up to the moment you feel the rush of wind as the plane door opens. You'll never be alone and there'll always be someone else sharing the experience, excitement and adrenaline.
A team of YouthNet employees decided to jump together...
Kuljeet: "I've always wanted to do something adventurous - but safe - and a tandem skydive seemed the perfect option because I wouldn't be doing it on my own! Plus, YouthNet's a really worthwhile charity so it was a no-brainer. Being part of a team also meant that I was supported throughout the fundraising and jump."
Susana: "The fact that I would be doing the jump with a group of colleagues gave me the initial confidence and made the whole experience more exciting."
Giuseppina: "I was up for the challenge and I liked the idea of doing the jump on the same day as my colleagues since we could support each other, especially with the fundraising efforts, and make it fun at the same time."
Kuljeet: "To fundraise we set up a Justgiving page and promoted it via Facebook. As a team, we also arranged some easy-to-organise fundraising events such as a pub quiz, which was fun and raised £400 towards our target. Fundraising as a team made it much easier as we could bounce ideas off each other and share the event organisation."
Sarah: "I think I would have struggled if I had to do all the fundraising for the jump myself, but the fact that we did it as a team made it a lot easier, and also really enjoyable."
Fundraising made easy
Reaching your fundraising target will be made much easier by having a group of you dedicated to the cause. Many heads are better than one, and with your combined imagination and drive, raising money will be far more fun and far less stressful.
Make friends
Jumping in a team will give you the opportunity to bond with colleagues or acquaintances who you may not know so well. Through organising fundraising events together and by reliving the jump afterwards, you'll be sure to get to know your team mates a whole lot more.
