Citi Foundation

The Citi Foundation is working with YouthNet on an innovative partnership called Bringing Money Advice to Life, helping young people to support each other.

The Citi Foundation recognised the value of YouthNet's work through its website TheSite.org in supporting financial education and improving the financial capability of young people. The money section of TheSite.org has more than 15,000 unique visitors each month and offers a wealth of information and support on everything from benefits and budgeting to credit and debt.

Our partnership:

'Bringing Money Advice to Life' is a groundbreaking partnership developing a range of new articles and a support network created by young people for young people. Understanding the benefits of young people learning from their peers, we have created a range of finance-related materials that let them share their experiences. This includes real-life case studies, rants, a regularly updated diary and two short films. YouthNet has also hosted an online chat with a money expert, allowing young people to ask questions about their own situation and receive professional support.

Florencia Spangaro, Citi Corporate Citizenship, EMEA says: "One of the key areas of interest to the Citi Foundation is the provision of financial education to young adults across the globe. Furthermore, we continue to work in partnership with organisations to provide 'best in class' programs to meet their clients' needs, and that is why in 2007 we began a partnership with YouthNet in the UK to deliver the project 'Bringing Money Advice to Life'. This program adds value and support to individuals that are seeking to enhance their understanding and knowledge around personal finance. We look forward to analysing the results of the program and embarking on new and thought-provoking schemes that will build upon our existing work."
